Urban Abstraction and the Winner is......

Good Morning everyone,

watercolor on paper 16 x 20
Thanks everyone for participating in my first giveaway.  I entered everyone that made a guess and using random.org the lucky winner in Wally!! I will be doing more give-aways in the future so stay tuned. I do have a several prints now available at Image Kind, and right now they are 22% off.

This weeks painting is one of my favorites.  My Dad took this picture in Chicago and as soon as I saw it I new I had to paint it.  I love the colors and the abstraction of it.  I painted it in record time so that I could enter it into an exhibit.  I pulled an all-nighter or two to make sure I got it finished in time. I do have this one available as a print.

Steven created another great painting this week.  I'm not sure what it is, but I do see a jellyfish, or umbrella, maybe a mushroom???  I'll have to ask him when he gets home from school:)

I've entered Fine Art Studios On-line art competition so please vote if you like my painting:)

Have a great week everyone:)

  4. Dear Carrie, I do like the movement that you have created in the water against the strongly graphical outlines of the tower blocks behind. Although you say that it is Chicago, the watercolour is so reflective of urban life itself.

  8. Je vous félicite Carrie pour cette aquarelle. C'est un véritable travail de titan. Le dessin de votre enfant est aussi très joli, j'aime ce que les enfants créent spontanément...

  9. Carrie, this is wonderful! The random shapes and fluidity of the water are beautiful. The contrast with all the sharp edges and hard lines of the buildings is stunning! I don't know where you will be exhibiting this, but I know it will be a crowd pleaser! Great job!
