I am happy to announce that I have lots o' prints available through Imagekind. They start as low as $14 and some change and go up from there.  You can order just a print or have them frame the art.  They have a lovely selection of frames and mats at a very economical price.  You can also get my prints on canvas.  So check it out it's a great way to get a one of a kind look at a great price.  They are on sale now for up to 30% off.

I have also added a new tab on my blog and website previewing my original works that are under $200.  I will be adding to this section this month.

In other exciting news I was so thrilled to be informed that my painting Pomegranates and Cranberries was accepted into the Montgomery Art Guild's exhibit.  The exhibit will be held at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, which is one of the United State's premiere fine art museums.  Not too often you can say that your painting is hanging in the same building as a Homer, Hopper and Sargent.  Only 76 pieces were selected out of 369 that were submitted, so I feel very honored.

I also had a painting accepted into the Energen Art Competition.  This contest is open for Alabama artists and I have to say it has been a great experience so far.

I also have 3 paintings on exhibit at the State Archives Building in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  I may lose track of where everything is:)

Hope everyone has a terrific week, sending you sunshine and warm weather from sunny Alabama.

I also now have prints available at Imagekind click HERE to check them out.  There is also a tab at the top of my blog that will direct you there.  It's super cool, you can order them just as a print, framed or as a canvas.  Right now they are on sale 10% off and free shipping.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!

Alabama Camelias and a bloggy dream come true

watercolor 16 x 20
This weeks painting I whipped out to enter into an Alabama contest hosted by Energen (a utilities company based in Birmingham.  I found out about the contest about a week ago I wasn't sure I would finish this one, but I managed to pull if off and get it entered on time, phew!!  Camelias are beautiful and one of my favorite flowers in doing my research for this contest I found out it is Alabama's state flower.  I've rarely paint flowers in their natural setting, I've usually paint them in a still life setting.  I will say it was a bit of a puzzle to get all the shadows and lights in on all of those leaves.

This week was super exciting for me because I got to meet some of my favorite art bloggers.  Leslie Saeta and Dream Tolle Perry were in Atlanta hosting a workshop and took out time to have lunch and say Hi.  Leslie and Dreama have a fabulous and invaluable blog radio show you must check out if you haven't   I was beyond excited to meet them!  I also got the chance to meet Kelley MacDonald another blogging buddy.  It was a great day!!  If I ever convert to being an oil painter I will definitely take a Leslie and Dreama workshop.

Urban Abstraction and the Winner is......

Good Morning everyone,

watercolor on paper 16 x 20
Thanks everyone for participating in my first giveaway.  I entered everyone that made a guess and using random.org the lucky winner in Wally!! I will be doing more give-aways in the future so stay tuned. I do have a several prints now available at Image Kind, and right now they are 22% off.

This weeks painting is one of my favorites.  My Dad took this picture in Chicago and as soon as I saw it I new I had to paint it.  I love the colors and the abstraction of it.  I painted it in record time so that I could enter it into an exhibit.  I pulled an all-nighter or two to make sure I got it finished in time. I do have this one available as a print.
