Great Balls of Fire

"Great Balls of Fire" or "Celebration" original watercolor on paper 6x6 SOLD
Hi Everyone,

I feel a huge weight has lifted:)  My workshop is over and it was fabulous!!!!  I had the best group of ladies to instruct.  It could not have gone better:)  And right after that Crystal Cook and I were featured guests on Artists Helping Artists blog radio show, we survived and didn't sound too crazy:)  I was so happy to be interviewed with my friend Crystal, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  Leslie Saeta and Kelley MacDonald asked us fabulous questions and made us sound good!  If you missed it here is the link it's the broadcast on 4/26, click here.
My first 3 day workshop, fabulous group of ladies:))

And ta da I finally finished my ball jars!!!!  So my not so "pc" title is "Great Balls of Fire" my alternate more conservative title is "Celebration".  This painting was a lot of fun and I'm anxious to paint a larger version, but before I can do that I have several commissions to work my way through.  That is a great problem to have:)

And to top off an absolutely fabulous week I sold 4 paintings.  What a week--I'll take a few more like that!
"Tall Drink of Water" SOLD
"The Night Before Christmas" SOLD
"Can It Too" SOLD

Hope you had a fabulous weekend:)

Carrie

  4. There are good weeks, and then there are GOOD weeks. Which just goes to show that all those hours of work have really paid off, Carrie. You're getting the recognition you have earned.

  6. Carrie this painting is beyond words! SO, SO, SO, SO gorgeous!! Truly a masterful piece. I just can't stop staring at it. :))) I love how it has a very design-y and abstract feel, but still reads as a ball jar. Realism and abstraction at its very finest. I am in LOVE with this painting!!! :)))))) And congrats on all your accomplishments. So happy for you!!!

  10. Your glass paintings are simply stunning. I looked at them again and again and lately they have inspired me to start painting glass! I won't dare to show you my first couple of meager results just yet, but if I have any success I will post it on my blog... :-P
This one looks like a great mystery to me -- what did you put behind those ball jars to reflect those flaming red in them? It would certainly be great to see how you set up your still life photo shoots -- perhaps after you move I just have to pay a visit to your studio in person! ;-)
I've finally completed your interview last Friday -- I'm sorry for the long delay... My life has been quite hectic
lately due to my lacking of time management abilities. I'm so sorry for getting back to you so late! Hope it has not caused any problems...
Congratulations on the sales! They just fly out of your studio door as soon as you finish them ;-) I'm quite interested in how the sale of the big sheet was generated, if you don't mind me asking -- was it sold at one of the shows you were exhibiting it, the museum gallery you were showing your work, in your workshop, or online? I have often found people a little reluctant to buy larger artwork online and if you have any tips in doing so, please share... ^_____~
Finally, let me say it again -- I love, love, loved your AHA interview! What a blast!

Of course you and Crystal are already totally famous in bloggy world :0)
