Knights Part deux
Acrylic on canvas 20 x 24
This week I'm a little late in getting my painting posted. We had a few interruptions. We took a spontaneous trip to Florida accompanying Brian on his business trip. It was nice to get away for a few days. We got to stay at a resort in Destin, so it was very nice. The oil hasn't reached the beaches there, yet, so we got to hang out on the beach. The kids loved it! We also had a spontaneous trip the ER last night. Sam swallowed and choked on an unidentified object. After 4 hours of waiting they finally did x-rays and couldn't find anything. He seems to be doing well. I'm hoping whatever it was passes quickly.
Back the the painting this week. This the 2nd of 3 painting commission. I'm posting a pic of them together, because if you're like me you want to see them side by side. I'm hoping to finish the 3rd one up before next week, because I'm attending my first watercolor workshop. I'm very excited! It's a workshop on portrait painting with Paul Jackson. I can't wait to learn as much as I possibly can.
Steven painted another beautiful watercolor this week. I asked him what he painted a picture of and he said "It's just an abstract Mommy". He's so cute.
Watercolor on paper 11 x 14
Sam also got in on the action this week and painted his first painting. He wanted to join in on what Mommy and Steven were doing. It's fun that he's interested in painting already. Maybe I'll have 2 little artists:) And the bottom picture is just for fun. The boys were dressing Moose up this week, so I call this photo "Mardi Gras Moose".
See you next week.

Oh, I love this post! I'm so glad your Sam is okay! That is the scariest thing, and one of my worst fears. My middle boy is the worst at putting every single thing he finds in his mouth. And I mean EVERY SINGLE THING.
ReplyDeleteYour knight paintings are turning out so well! I love each of them, and it is so fun to see them next to each other. :)
Love your boys paintings and your cute doggie :)
Thanks Crystal, Sam's incident was scary, I had to flip him upside down and bang on his little back to get the object dislodged, so he could breathe. Unfortunately he sucked whatever it was down instead of spitting it out. So I don't even know what it was. He's doing great. Hopefully he'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my paintings. I'm pretty happy with them. One more to go, and that one will be fun, it's for a little girl. I don't have a girl so I'm pretty excited about it.
I loved the commissioned paintings, Carrie! They turned out beautifully. And I can't believe what talented grandsons we have! Sam painting his first picture at 14 months. And Steven telling you his painting was just an abstract! I think they're geniuses (of course I'm a little prejudiced!) Looking so forward to keeping the boys while you take your class. We'll have lots of fun in the sandbox and swimming pool! Debbie/Mom/Grandma
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie, we're looking forward to next week also. I appreciate your comments and support:) Love, Carrie
ReplyDeleteCarrie,
ReplyDeleteThe second one is just as amazing as the first one! That castle--wow! Also love the brotherly change from the original sketch--it is perfect!!! I am so very excited to put them up in the boys' room. I just showed David and he lit up and wanted it TODAY! I look forward to seeing the enchanted forest :) Thank you so much!

This is a post from my client that ordered these paintings. It wouldn't let her post it onto my blog. But I wanted to share it.

These are wonderful. I enjoyed reading your profile. I worked in commercial interiors for many years and quit to stay home with my three sons. It was a decision I am so gratful I could make. Enjoy and your creative arts will rub off on your boys. Looks like it already has.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
Dori, Thanks for visiting my blog. I really appreciate your comments. I too feel that staying home with my boys is a terrific opportunity. I wouldn't want anyone else raising them. I do miss Interior Design and hope to get back to it eventually. I'm glad I found your blog:)
