Work In Progress Wednesday: "Retro Pop"

"Retro Pop" work in progress  11" x 12" watercolor by Carrie Waller
Today I'm sharing my progress with you:))  Can't wait to share the finished painting with you on Monday!  I absolutely love the colors in this painting and I can't wait to do some more in this series.  I do have to take a break in there and get ready for a workshop I'm teaching on Friday.  I'm trying a new painting with this workshop and I'll tell you all about it next week.

I do hava couple spots available in my "All That Shines:  The Art of Painting Glass in Watercolor" May 15-17th workshop in Baton Rouge, LA.  That will probably be my last workshop in the United States for a while since we are packing up and moving to Japan.

Work In Progress Wednesday: "Painted Ladies"

"Painted Ladies" 6" x 9" original watercolor copyright Carrie Waller
Here are the work in progress pics for "Painted Ladies".  I have to thank Sherry of Crimson Leaves blog for the title:)  I think it's perfect and went well with the "Rainbow Row" title I have of Charleston SC fame.

Is it only Wednesday, feels like Friday!  I'm ready for Friday:)  I'll be heading out to see the Louisiana Watercolor Society's International show at the Garden District Gallery in New Orleans.  I'm excited to see my piece hanging in person.  In the mean time one of my friends sent a pic of the space and my painting.
LWS International Show, my painting is the one in the corner the green bottles "Going Green".
Also had an unexpected delight this week.  I was working at the gallery I'm part of this weekend and dropped one of the local magazines and it popped open to  a full page print of my painting "Summer Kaleidoscope".  The painting is in a local show here in Little Rock and the gallery sent in images and the magazine decided to use my painting as the full page opener for their events sections.  They of course talk about my painting at the bottom and gave me credit.

If you're in the Little Rock, AR area my gallery Local Colour is having an art show Thursday, May 9th from 5:30-8:00pm, 5811 Kavanaugh Blvd, Little Rock.  Spring into Art is the name of the show and there are some wonderful paintings.  Stop by if you can.

Work In Progress Wednesday: "Rainbow Row"

"Rainbow Row" 17" x 35" work in progress watercolor by Carrie Waller
Here are my work in progress pics for my newest painting.  I finally have a title, my Mom came up with Rainbow Row (she lives in Charleston) and I think it's perfect.  I loved all the titles that you guys sent in as well and plan on using some of those for future painting titles.

I have this painting finished but I'm not unveiling until Monday so until then you can see the work in progress sneak peeks:)

Oh and as far as my laundry list of crazy tasks to finish that I mentioned in last post, my second child just got sick so I'm scratching the yard sale.  Feels good to type that:)  I had a dream last night that I was almost finished packing for our move and I packed the wrong house:)

Work In Progress Wednesday: Large Rainbow Bottles

Add caption

I'm working on my large version of rainbow bottles.  Below is a small section that I painted as a 6x9 version.  The above painting is much larger 17ish by 35ish.  Makes it a little difficult to get great wip pictures.  I'm on the shorter side and I'll have to pull out  my step stool to get some straight on pictures.

6"x9" first painting in my rainbow bottle series
I'm chomping at the bit to go paint so I'll see you Friday for the Friday Feature and check back in Monday to see if I have this painting finished.  I have a gallery show coming up on May 9th, so I'll pretty much be painting at lightening speed until then.

Oh and Jerry's Artarama made me their featured fan art of the week.  How cool is that:))
