Hi Everyone,
I'm sharing my latest 6x6 "Summer Kaleidoscope" with you today. On this drizzly, cold day this painting certainly looks inviting. The challenge for me on this painting was to get wine glasses and bottles into a square format. I took LOTS of photos, and I have to say it was a very successful photo shoot, so I'm sure there will be more paintings coming out of the series. In order to get the square format I wanted I went for the bird's eye view which ended up beautifully capturing the cut crystal of the wine glasses.
I also wanted to share that I am now in a gallery in Little Rock , AR, Local Colour. They have a big Fall show coming up this week so I had to scramble to get things together to hang for the show. So if anyone is in the area please stop by Thursday, November 8 from 5:30 - 8:00. 5811 Kavanaugh Blvd, Little Rock, Arkansas.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Jose:)
DeleteGood luck with your show, Carrie!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather:)
Gros bisous
Thank you Martine:)
DeleteCarrie, you have completely captured summer in this painting. I LOVE it!!!!! I just can't stop going back to look at the painting. :) And big hurrahs for your gallery show. I hope it goes very well for you.
ReplyDeleteKathryn, I'm so glad you feel summer also. I fell in love with the colors. Thanks so much:)
DeleteI really love how you portrayed the cut crystals -- like a beautifully fitted puzzle. I am always amazed how you do those -- complicated yet never seem crowded. The high-key palette conveys the light, happy summer air perfectly. You are well on your way to Randy Higbee! (Me, on the other hand, is completely behind schedule...)
ReplyDeleteCongratulation on the gallery! You are certainly moving fast! How did you find out about it? And how did the application process go? I am really interested since I want to get into one or two more galleries next year if possible -- another path I want to try out. Of course, no hurries for the answer -- I know you are super busy right now for the Randy Higbee show! Paint on!
Hi Arena, Thanks so much. I joined a watercolor society here and a gentleman in the society got me in contact with the gallery owner of the gallery he is in. I went for an interview and portfolio review and am now part of the gallery.
DeleteThis really feels very summery. The high key composition along with some sunny greens is mouth watering. Awesome work.
ReplyDeleteAnd all the best for the show at Local Color.
