work in progress by Carrie Waller original watercolor |
Hi Everyone,
As you can see I haven't progressed as much as I would have like too, but this was the last weekend before school starts and we had a family weekend. We did all kinds of fun stuff in Little Rock. My baby starts kindergarten Monday morning and I'll probably be a big, teary, mess! Sam (my 3 year old) and I will have lots of quality time together while big brother is at school. Steven goes to school from 7:45 until 3:20, seems like such a long day. I'll let you know how it's going on Wednesday:)

Wishing Steven a wonderful first day of school. How awesome and scary for both Mommy and child. He will do fine, remember he's YOUR son and you are a great Mommy. I hope Sam adjusts to the quietness of home alone time with Mommy. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAww, first day of school, and the beginning of his formal education... wow! What a momentous day! He looks so confident and happy!
ReplyDeleteYour painting is coming along nicely, I like that you included your palette tray there, I'd like to see more of your work space and your process, etc.
Don't worry about the progress; there's nothing more important than your kids!
ReplyDeleteThat is a long day for a 5-year-old, I agree. I wish all of you the best in this life-style change.
ReplyDeleteSteven looks ready and excited for school! That first day is an occasion! While hard on Moms and Dads you'll see so many exciting things happen. Have a great year, Steven!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Mom! I have a preschooler that starts school today. It's so hard to watch them grow up so quickly. I hope he has a great day. I love your Ball Jars!!!
ReplyDeleteYou tricked me Carrie: I thought the palette is also painted. I looked for good two minutes to find the edges on the shadow and was totally convinced that this is what you painted. Great idea next time just grab you beautiful palette and paint it next to the piece. I bet that will be the next Winner!! :0)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Irina
How sweet he looks, Carrie!!. I remember those days!!! I got very emotional when my daughters went to school for the first time...part of me wanted them to go to school...the other part didn't want them to grow up!! Your painting is coming along beautifully!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking so gorgeous Carrie! And your little guy looks so grown up in kindergarten! :) Hope you're not missing him too much.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful painting. I hope Steven enjoys his time at school and you enjoys yours with Sam :).
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Carrie, I LOVE the colors in this painting and the composition! Can't wait until it is finished. Good luck with Kindergarten. This is the last year for me to have a little one at home. I have kind of blown off "my activities" this summer to spend time with my kiddos. It has been fun.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, your WIP looks beeeeeeautiful!
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I completely empathize with you on your little one going to school. I remember leaving mine for the first time - it was awful... I felt awful... and he cried when I left which made me feel so much worse! But then when I finally peeled myself away, I peeped through the window and of course there were no tears to be seen and he'd gone straight to the play area to explore. I am sure it's harder for us than it is for them. Good luck :0)
